The crusade in Vilnius, Lithuania, is the largest crusade we have held in Europe – and probably the largest since the great Billy Graham rallies. It cost us everything we have – but the results are tremendous. – Thank you for praying – Thank you for giving.

Lithuania, 3.6 million, is a North European country, the southernmost of the three Baltic States. It shares borders with Latvia, Belarus, Poland, and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. Its capital city, Vilnius, is the current European Capital of Culture. Lithuania is celebrating 1000 years since the Gospel first came to this nation.

The three days of evangelism, were, in the words of the founding pastor of the large United Nations Church in Geneva, ‘a spectacular success’ – ‘the finest preparation and presentation combined with the greatest power of God’. We took and filled the largest indoor stadium in the Baltics – more than 10,000 attended the evening services – and according to the pastors, a maximum of 2,500 were believers, the great majority being unbelievers who responded nightly, in their thousands, to the powerful preaching of the Gospel, streaming forward with tears of repentance until the centre of the arena was packed. Nationwide advertising brought in bus-loads from across the nation – with the result that the whole nation was shaken.

After we left, over 30 separate Alpha Courses were started in Vilnius alone to take care of the new believers! A businessman staying in our hotel attended all the meetings. – He said, ‘Never have such meetings been held in Lithuania!’ A local pastor told us, ‘Never in the whole history of the nation have so many people ever gathered to hear the Gospel! We have been waiting and praying over twenty years for this.’

Our organizers began preparation one year before, involving the whole nation, and every denominational group from Pentecostal to the Catholics who asked us to give it the national title of ‘Gospel Celebration’, to celebrate 1000 years since Christianity first came to Lithuania. Local representatives went into every town, every village, throughout the nation, to tell the churches to bring unbelievers into the meetings. The secular media carried our advertising and wrote positively in anticipation even before the event.

The campaign was combined with a great humanitarian aid programme to relieve the distress caused by the catastrophic financial situation in Lithuania, which now finds itself lying behind a new ‘Iron Curtain’ of financial debt to Western Europe. A special event was also held for the orphan children from across the country. The last night closed with a grand musical finale – the finest professional singers in the nation performing a very moving and spectacular musical on the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ which confirmed the spectacular glory of our redemption in Christ.

Armenia Praise Report!

Many people say that the day of mass evangelism is over – but look at what happened in Armenia – this demonstrates the miraculous power of God! Just before I left for Slovakia, I had a phone call from the Pastors in Armenia telling me that after our Easter crusade meetings in April, the government officials summoned the pastors for a meeting. These officials, who had attended the crusade, had only praise for the meetings. So much so that they said they will cancel the proposed new law which would have restricted the evangelicals and refused them permission to evangelise or to hold meetings outside their churches or even to rent buildings. The same officials said they will support any application for me to return and rent halls and advertise.

This is an incredible miracle – our crusades in Armenia convinced the government to change their law and grant religious freedom to the evangelicals! Truly this is the way that revival begins! But we must act on this freedom – and let God change the whole nation! – This is what mass evangelism can do – this is what your praying for this ministry has been able to achieve!

Philip Lane update

Philip Lane – the organizer and financial sponsor of our Slovak crusades – passed away peacefully Wednesday 29 April and has gone to be with the Lord. His family were all gathered with him in Cyprus (as was David). Please pray for Philip’s wife and family in their very great loss. Philip loved the Lord with all his heart and sowed much into the Kingdom of God. His last great work was to set up the crusades in Slovakia that David will hold in Proprad and Kosice 9-14 June. It was Philip’s heart’s desire to bless Slovakia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Prayer Update- Philip Lane

We have been very moved by your prayerful response to this situation - and have passed on your comments to Philip's family. We know that prayer moves the hands of God - and that when we pray, God works miracles!

Philip's daughter sent us this update on him:

We have had the results in and they show an aggressive tumour in the brain stem which is untreatable. They have not given us any time scale as they have said that it is a rare type and it could be an overnight thing, weeks or months so we have to take each day as it comes.

Philip is weak but is a little conversant. He is eating a little; nevertheless we have seen an improvement in the last couple of days so he is fighting it!

David intends to fly out to Cyprus and pray with Philip within the next few weeks. We are praying very strongly for Philip that God will work a big miracle for him. We have always felt these crusades in Slovakia are very special because of the way God put it in Philip's heart to do it, and because of David's very special faith-forming experience in prison under communism. The crusades in Proprad and Kosice are 9-14 June 2009.

Philip still wants to attend the Slovak crusades - it means a lot to him and his family is praying and hoping that he can make it.

Urgent Prayer for Philip Lane

Urgent Prayer for Philip Lane – Organizer and Sponsor of David Hathaway’s Slovakia Crusade.

Philip Lane was taken critically ill 10 days ago. He has now been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Medically, it is unlikely that he can live more than a few months.

Philip is an English businessman, operating out of Cyprus with business interests in Slovakia. Last year he came across a copy of Czech Mate, David’s account of his time in prison in Czechoslovakia. Then he saw our programme on CNBC where David referred to his time in prison. Philip knew in his spirit then that he wanted to work with us in Slovakia. When he talked with his business and church contacts, he discovered that they knew David’s ministry and also had a desire to invite us to evangelise.

In June last year, Philip formally approached us and we began discussions about the feasibility of working together. After a few months the ‘go-ahead’ was given and Philip, along with an organising committee began work.

Philip is personally sponsoring the Slovak crusades in Proprad and Kosice, 9-14 June 2009.

We’re living in a generation which saw the collapse of communism twenty years ago and right now, in 2009, the collapse of capitalism as we knew it! – With the possible creation of a world economy – and President Barak Obama encouraging a stronger, Federal EU (a precursor to one world government) – watch what he says! – He has a ‘hidden agenda’!

The G20 meeting in London on 2 April also has a ‘hidden agenda’ and the newspapers are predicting a new single world currency. All are clear indications of the soon return of Christ. I am writing an article for the next Prophetic Vision magazine to explain more, and my documentary the ‘Rape of Europe’ is now more prophetic than ever. Watch the EU parliamentary elections in two months!!

The task is urgent – the time is short – the need is great. Thank you for your loyal and continuing support in prayer. I believe this worldwide economic shaking is creating the biggest opportunity we’ve ever had to evangelise! God is shaking the nations and as a result, in their despair they need Christ. – Jesus said that we are the light of the world! But –

We’re in a financial/spiritual battle – but I believe this worldwide economic shaking is creating the biggest opportunity we’ve ever had to evangelise! God is shaking the nations powerfully and as a result, in their despair they need Christ. – Jesus said that we are the light of the world! We must rise above the recession, show that our feet are on the rock, that when others around us are panicking, God will deliver us! Our feet must stand on the only firm foundation, God’s Word!’

Urgent need for prayer!

Once again we have an urgent need for prayer. I believe that often the Lord allows us to pass through trials in order to teach us to trust Him. This is what we have to do now in our financial need.

We are facing the biggest economic crisis in 100 years

This itself is presenting the greatest opportunity for evangelism, not only in Britain, but worldwide! Most unbelievers, who find Christ, do so because they have problems which they cannot solve – sickness, financial problems, family, alcohol, drugs and so many other problems! It is in their hour of need that after everything/everyone else fails, in their extremity, their last hope is in the Christ they so long rejected. That is why we must increase our efforts to reach the lost. But we cannot, without increasing our income.

I understand that many of you are giving sacrificially out of your own need. We thank God for the hundreds of you who give monthly by standing order, this is a phenomenal help as we actually know in advance when this comes in! However I believe that we need to reach out to those who do not know about our ministry but will support us when they know.

Pray that the Lord will raise up fresh financial supporters.

Over the years we have approached many Christian trusts for funds for evangelism. While some have given a little, the majority have a clause prohibiting evangelism. One of our trustees who has agreed to spend time approaching these trusts has been shocked to find that some so-called evangelical trusts are afraid of proselytizing and so, while believing in the Gospel, will not support us.

We need massive prayer support

This is why I must go away this weekend, to spend time in prayer – I am spending extra time away – because of the urgency. Only prayer – only God can answer. Never in the last 100 years has evangelism been more needed than today. You will see this by my leading article in the February edition of Prophetic Vision.

A few days ago I was in Lithuania meeting the pastors in preparation for our crusade this autumn. A pastor took me to a sad, derelict collection of huts built by drug addicts to survive the bitter eastern winter snow. The missioner showed me how Christians in the West had contributed a lot of money supposedly for evangelism, they had built a comfortable warm building where clothing and other aid was provided for the children. But lack of Christian follow-up meant that the place had no Bibles or Christian literature, only posters depicting many kinds of weird religions – demonic! If only Christians would realise that only preaching Christ can change these lives.

I have just received a phone call from Tallinn in Estonia. Their situation is catastrophic, their currency is being devalued, their debts like mountains. They are pleading with me to continue the broadcasts on secular TV which followed our Crusade. The nation is in desperation. A group of business men will pay 50% of the costs if we will pay the rest. Why? Because they can see that the Gospel I preached does change lives.

Please pray with me – ‘the fields are white – workers are few,’ Jesus said. Now time is short.

Ministry Update

This year we have held Live-TV crusades in 11 cities across Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Kazakhstan and Bulgaria – and in addition we held ministry meetings and conferences in 18 locations in Europe and USA. More than that, each week our Gospel programmes are shown in 74 nations on secular TV – with responses coming from Greenland, Iceland, Holland, and even Kuwait! Together with you, we are taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ with miracles and healing to the broken-hearted and all those who most desperately need Him. We must tell everyone about Jesus!

Bulgaria Crusade Report

Thousands of unbelievers came to our last evangelism of 2008, in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria – with many coming forward to give their lives to Christ. This current world crisis is the greatest opportunity for evangelism; in Bulgaria, because of government corruption, the EU, only a few days before the crusade, announced the withdrawal of all its funding to Bulgaria, leaving ordinary Bulgarians as wretched and as poor as they were under communism. The people are desperate – God must answer by fire and power. And He does.

In every evangelism we have ever held in Bulgaria, the testimony is of outstanding miracles of healing in the lives of ordinary people. During the course of this crusade, two women came to the platform to testify what amazing things God had done for them previously – they have the medical evidence and the test of time! One woman came to David’s meeting 2 years ago with a 10cm cyst on her liver – afterwards she went back to her doctor to check – and she has the evidence, there is now no cyst!

Another woman, an alcoholic, came to David’s meeting last year with alcohol poisoning – all her organs were ravaged and the hospital had given her only 10 days to live – but God completely healed and delivered her! Today she looks wonderful – and she came with a friend who confirmed the greatness of the healing that had taken place. Another remarkable testimony was of a child who needed a bone marrow transplant, but his parents could not afford the operation. They thought the church might help raise some money, but God completely healed the child! When the last meeting came to close on the Sunday, no one wanted to go home, the people stayed singing glory to God.

Revival Campaign in Tallinn

The Fire of the Holy Spirit in the Revival Campaign in Tallinn!

The results were outstanding – despite the fact that there are only 2,000 believers in Estonia, nearly 6000 came every night! And 2000 attended each day’s conference seminars. After the simple Gospel message, over 2000 came forward each night to repent, and there were really outstanding miracles of healing! On the Saturday evening the company who did our advertising came – they had said that we could not fill the hall by advertising a Christian service – but when they saw the crowds, they were amazed and said that not even famous Rock musicians could draw such a tremendous attendance. On the Sunday the Estonian State TV filmed the service, and broadcast it – free! In all we had 8 different TV crews filming the Conference!

For years people have said that the great crusades we are holding in Russia could not happen in Europe – God demonstrated in Estonia that He can, and will, if we go out in faith! Many who attended said that this was the first time that they had really heard the Gospel preached – the first time that real evangelism had been witnessed in Europe for 20 or even 30 years! We are expecting the miraculous power of God to bring a ‘spiritual awakening’ to this nation and the whole Baltic Region. The Conference has shaken and stirred Estonia – and I believe has begun a shaking in Europe, which we must follow through.

Thank you for joining me in strong intercessory prayer – I believe we saw the start of a spiritual breakthrough which will bring a Holy Ghost Revival to Tallinn! God answered!

The timing of this Crusade in Tallinn was critical: – we did not know when we received the invitation how the world would change. The whole of former Soviet Europe has come under threat from Russia since the attack on Georgia – those countries with direct borders to Russia are especially afraid – particularly Estonia and the Ukraine. Then the financial collapse came, the banks and the whole system being wiped out in those few desperate days. This has made the Gospel message more relevant, more necessary!

Following Tallinn we held a big conference and crusade in Perm October 2-6. We approached these meetings with some concern in view of the uncertain worldwide economic climate – my 12 month multiple entry religious visa was about to expire – at a time when the political relationships between Russia and Britain were deteriorating! But the deciding factor was Sunday 14 September when a Russian Boeing airliner crashed on the outskirts of Perm, 500 yards from the pastor’s house, killing all 88 passengers and crew. Russian people are very emotional and close-knit, even in a city as large as this. Everyone knew those who died. Pastor Eduard called me, “Please come. The people of Perm are devastated and in a great depression. They need the Gospel – don’t fail us!”

I went – the Lord worked amazing miracles to make this – the biggest such event in 15 years – a success. The morning seminar was attended by 3000 delegates from all over the Perm region, even more were present for the second seminar, and 6000 attended the evangelism in the evening with thousands repenting. 1700 New Testaments were handed out that first night. On Sunday 4500 attended the conference seminar, and again 6000 attended the evangelism. Relatives and friends of the crash victims were present in the meetings. One woman had a daughter who had been practicing as a doctor in Norway for 10 years and this was to be her first visit home. Nevertheless both the daughter who died, and the mother were believers; the mother said, “Evangelism is the most fitting tribute and memorial to the dead. Everyone needs Jesus!”

The results – from the evangelism, 1000 new converts came to the church on the following Sunday. To the sceptics this demonstrates that the day of mass evangelism is not over! People will still come to hear the Gospel and repent in their thousands. From the conference, Pastor Eduard is distributing the CDs of the preaching to pastors all over Russia – he says this is the most powerful preaching he has ever heard and he believes it will re-ignite the evangelistic fire all over Russia with an impact on the whole nation.

In addition, I went 250km by car, to hold a one night open-air crusade in Kudimkar. As we approached this northern city, the sunshine gave way to black skies and the rain poured down. But the organising pastor said, “You think the weather in Kudimkar is bad, but these people will come!” – And they did! There were people everywhere – standing in the square, sheltering under the buildings across the street, under the portico of the Culture Palace behind the platform, under umbrellas – up to 1000 standing in the rain! Teenagers, young couples, the old and the sick! – And no-one moved! But when I got up to speak, the rain stopped, crowds pressed forward and hundreds received Christ.

Our first Open Day on October 11 was an opportunity to not only meet you, but for you to meet all our staff – and see how we process our work quickly and efficiently. The Charity Commission website shows that we only spend 6.5% of our income on fund-raising – which is remarkable!

This time is critical not only for my ministry – but for you also. I need your support more now than ever – both in prayer and finance to fulfil the call in Russia – and to use the Tallinn Crusade as a launch pad into Europe itself. We must follow through the success of Tallinn and Perm. The most important thing to do at this time of crisis is to evangelise – most people find Christ in times of crisis.

We need to renew prayer for finance – I believe that the Lord will bless Christians in the crisis – and that God will not only deliver us – but cause others to see that God is meeting our needs when others around us are falling! Our financial needs continue: we need a further £250,000 to complete this years’ programme – before the end of the year I will be – first USA – then Bulgaria – then Israel!

We have a promise – from a God who KEEPS HIS WORD – and who never fails.

Perm Conference Update

We approached this big event with some concern in view of the uncertain worldwide economic climate. On the other hand, David’s 12-month multiple entry religious visa was about to expire. Could we count on it being renewed, considering the deteriorating political relationships between Russia, Britain and the West?

THE AFTERMATH OF OBAMA ELECTION

I was going to write this document when I noticed you have sent an email in response to the just concluded election. i thank God for its content for it is timely and appropriate.

I was watching Obama`s acceptance speech on Television on 5th and I was carried away by the emotions of the moment. I recognized that a part of me is caught up in it, my memory went back to Kenya`s emergency period [1952-1960] when over 300,000 Kenyans were killed by a white colonial regime even without counting how many women were raped or how many men were castrated [all the happenings of the period are in a book written by a Harvard researcher Caroline Elkin “Imperial Reckoning”] and the emotions of the moment was real as I watched a black man take the reigns of power of the greatest Nation in history a proposition that was unthinkable just a few years ago.|

As I watched Oprah Winfrey and Jesse Jackson in tears and all that had assembled at Chicago I too was emotionally caught up in happenings of the moment as I recalled some of my uncles who were hung to death in full view of the villagers. At that moment the Holy Spirit started ministering to me so gently in that small soft voice and showed me how easy it is to crown the events of the day with the Scripture and Christianize the whole of the American electoral process as a God driven process. At that moment I realized what the Church has lost. Jesus died so that historical events like this can be orchestrated and led by the Church and now the world is celebrating the defiled and counterfeited so called change that has given our enemy the Legal right to destroy the world further than he previously did. How does this legal right change hands from men to satan? Please allow me to share my thoughts with you
[Luke4:5-7- The devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to Him “I will give you all their authority and splendor ,for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours.
V8- Jesus answered him……….]
The Bible teaches us the following

The devil took Him up to a high place- this high place is a place beyond our created dimension and so covers all times past, present and future kingdoms. from the kingdom of Babel to the kingdoms of our days and future ones until he is defeated and the power of the kingdoms is taken way from him.
I will give you their splendor and authority- (authority entails and is not limited to ;legal authority, judgment authority, political authority, governing authority, financial and business authority etc)- and splendor or glory entail honor, respect, adoration and worship)
For it has been given to me and I can give it to anyone I want to NOTE That in Genesis1:26-28, the dominion to govern was given to Adam and his offspring’s and not to the devil to trade with it. Father Adam gave his dominion to Satan at the fall and his offspring’s have followed in his footsteps since. Also NOTE that Jesus did not argue with him on that point despite the fact that they both knew that “Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made John1:3”
The devil was quite prepared to hand over the kingdoms to Jesus in exchange of one thing and only one thing “WORHIP”. It is important for Christians to understand the value of worship! In the celestial order, the devil is prepared to hand over all the nations of the world for worship. The value of worship in the heavenly places supersedes the value of any thing physical.
And the master deceiver of men only gives authority and splendor of kingdoms to only those who understand his version of worship and offer sacrifices and worship to him. BUT a day will come and it almost at hand when the saints of the most high God who know Him well……shall be strong and and carry out great exploits Dan11:32. On that day there will be great voices in heaven saying “The kingdoms of this world has become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Rev.11:15b. Daniel so ably concludes by writing about this episode of the devil and the Kingdoms he has stolen as follows [Dan7:14- Then to Him [Jesus] was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all the people, Nations and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one that shall not be destroyed]
Who is predestined to win this battle? The over comers will!!!!!! Norm you are right the American Church was not ready for the battle ahead. There were not enough over comers to root out and overthrow, saints who could overturn the tide and recreate the garden of Aden with overflow of the Holy Ghost fire and power. Jesus was Chrystal clear about it when He told John the revelator “And he who overcomes, and keeps My work until the end, to him I will give power over the Nations……….And will give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. Rev.2:26,28,29

Now allow me to recap the brief historical connection of my country and the just concluded American election so that the spiritual backdrop of what has just happened may be clear for the sole purpose of future and further prayers of repentance and repositioning of the Praying Church to the height of glory that is ours by the power of the Holy Spirit.
